How to use PDF to CSV

    1. Select your PDF with the button above, or drag and drop it onto the page.
    2. Check the options if the tool has any. The default settings work for most documents.
    3. Click "Convert" and wait a few seconds while the PDF is converted to CSV.
    4. Download your CSV file. Several files are delivered in a ZIP archive.

The converter reads the position of every word on the page and rebuilds the rows and columns of each table, even when the PDF has no visible grid lines. Rows from all pages are joined into one CSV file, and the column headers repeated at the top of each page are kept only once.

The file is saved in UTF-8, so accents and Arabic text display correctly in Excel. If you use Excel in French, Spanish or German, choose the semicolon separator so the columns open correctly with a double-click.

    About the file formats

    PDF (Portable Document Format)

Created by Adobe in 1993, PDF is the standard for sharing documents that must look identical on every screen and printer. It embeds fonts, images and layout in one file and supports passwords, forms and digital signatures.

    CSV (Comma-Separated Values)

CSV is a plain text format for tables: one line per row and a comma between values. It is the universal way to move data between spreadsheets, databases, CRMs and online shops.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PDF to CSV and PDF to Excel?

PDF to Excel creates one worksheet per page with formatted cells. PDF to CSV puts all the rows of the document in one plain table, which is better for importing into databases, accounting software or Google Sheets.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

A scan has no text layer to read. Run it through OCR PDF first, then convert the result to CSV.

Why does Excel show everything in one column?

Excel in some languages expects a semicolon between values. Convert again with the "Semicolon" separator, or use Data > From Text/CSV in Excel to choose the separator.

Does it work with scanned PDF files?

Scanned pages are images, so their text cannot be edited directly. Run the file through our OCR PDF tool first to make the text recognizable, then convert it.

    Is MajorPDF free to use?

Yes, completely free. There is no registration and no watermark is added to your files.

    Are my files safe?

Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and deleted automatically after 1 hour(s). After downloading you can also delete them immediately with one click.

What is the maximum file size?

Each file can be up to 50 MB.
