How to reduce the size of an image in KB
- Select your photos or drop them on the page. JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP and more are accepted.
- Type the maximum size in KB, for example 50 for a photo or 15 for a signature.
- Click "Reduce image size". Quality is lowered first, then the dimensions if needed.
- Download the result. The new size is shown on screen.
Application forms rarely ask for an image "in good quality". They ask for a JPG between 20 and 50 KB, a signature under 15 KB or a scan under 300 KB. Doing that by hand means trying one quality setting after another in a photo editor.
Here you type the number and the tool does the trial and error for you. It lowers the JPEG quality first, keeping the dimensions of the photo, and only reduces the width and height when the limit is very small. PNG images keep their transparency, and iPhone HEIC photos are converted to JPG on the way.

How do I reduce a photo to exactly 50 KB?
Type 50 in the "Target size" field, select your photo and click "Reduce image size". The result is a little under 50 KB, never over.
The form needs a size between 20 and 50 KB. What should I type?
Type a value close to the maximum, such as 45. The image will be just under 45 KB, which respects both the minimum and the maximum.
Can I change the size in pixels instead?
Yes. Use Resize image to set an exact width and height in pixels, then come back here if the file is still too heavy.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It works in the browser on Android and iPhone: tap "Select images", pick a photo from your gallery and download the lighter copy.
